About Ceilon Aspensen

Ceilon Aspensen Ceilon Aspensen has been an artist her entire life, has a BFA in Drawing from Mississippi State University, and paints in her studio every day.

In addition to working as a full-time visual artist, she is the full-time 8th-12th grade art teacher at Shelby Junior and Senior High School, she taught art full-time in grades K-12 at Brockton School on the Fort Peck Indian reservation, taught art full-time in grades 9-12 in Baltimore City Public Schools in Baltimore, Maryland for five years from 2006-2011, and taught art as a volunteer and served as an art mentor in the Bozeman area for many years prior to earning her K-12 Art teacher certification. Ceilon was awarded the College of Letters and Sciences Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for her outstanding teaching. She was also an adjunct instructor at Montana State University teaching NASX-551, American Indian Art Survey from 2009-2015, and is finishing her PhD in American Studies, focusing on Contemporary American Indian Art.

Ceilon lives in Bozeman, Montana and works in Shelby, Montana. She enjoys spectacular views of six mountain ranges from her backyards, and enjoys being less than ninety miles from both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. These inspiring surroundings fuel her art-making and her imagination.
